Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
A veteran of 16 NHL seasons, with the bulk of his career split between Ottawa and Dallas, Jason Spezza has seen action in a pair of NHL All-Star Games, with numerous appearances for Team Canada including being just the third 16-year-old to make the World Junior squad after Wayne Gretzky and Eric Lindros. Acquired directly from the Toronto Maple Leafs, we have a pair of skates worn by the star in 2019-20, his first season in Ontario. CCM Ribcore 70K models with Tuuk blade holders and intact lacing, a decal has been added to the underside of each boot with “Spezza Jason” in typed text along with coding. Images show Speeza wearing this model of skate throughout most of the 2019-20 NHL season, with these specimens showing nice game-use, with a few cuts and marks over the toe sections, with additional marks along with a few cuts and small gouges to the blade holders. Getty Image #1199560028 (Feb 8, 2020 vs Montreal) appears to show the missing silver colouring over the bottom reverse of each skate, specifically to the shape and placement of each small area of missing colour, but the image is not high resolution enough to call a definitive photo-match. An LOA from the Toronto Maple Leafs will accompany.
