Patrolling the Montreal Canadiens blueline throughout the 1970s as part of the Habs’ “Big Three” defenders along with fellow HOF members Larry Robinson and Guy Lapointe, Serge Savard would be a part of eight Stanley Cup championships with the Canadiens, with the Conn Smythe Trophy earned in 1969. From his final season in Quebec before heading west to join the Winnipeg Jets, we have a signed Montreal Canadiens captain’s jersey that was issued to the superstar for the 1980-81 NHL season. A Maska Ultrafil label is affixed to the collar, with the vintage sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 52. Featuring the classic Habs team crest, Savard’s “18” graces the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with the blueliner adding an attractive blue sharpie signature within the reverse “8”, and it displays beautifully. There does appear to be wear and marks, but we believe this was added later and does not originate from game use, with a signed LOA from Serge Savard to accompany.
