Forever changing the defensive position and generally considered the greatest blueliner in history, Bobby Orr items, no matter how plentiful, never seem to satisfy the feverish demand of collectors. We offer a dose of Orr medicine for those afflicted, with a neat collection that includes a pair of Oshawa Generals scrapbooks with a mounted program for the 1966 Memorial Cup with Orr in the line-up, a signed greeting card, and a collection of five Sports Illustrated reel to reel interviews spanning from 1969 to 1974. The scrapbooks are both 11” x 15” and packed with period newspaper clippings along with the aforementioned Memorial Game program. Additional highlights include a trio of Oshawa ticket stubs with two datable, with one for the Feb 27, 1966 contest vs the Toronto Marlies (Orr was in the line-up), and the second, for the Feb 1, 1966 exhibition match against the Whitby Dunlops. A PSA/DNA COA will accompany for the signed greeting card.
The signed greeting card is approx 4 ½” x 7” (folded), with an earlier Orr ballpoint signature. A PSA/DNA sticker numbered “AE88125” has been affixed. The Memorial Cup program is 5 ½” x 8 ½” with moderate wear including some creasing. The reel to reel interviews are each housed in their original 4 ¼” x 4 ½” two-piece box, with typed labels listing the date and interview subjects. The Jan 22, 1969 reel includes Weeb Ewbank and Freddie Trenkler along with Orr, the Dec 17, 1970 reel includes Mendy Rudolph along with Orr, the Jan 30, 1973 reel includes Bob Kauffman, Harmon Killebrew and Claude Osteen along with Orr, the Jan 8, 1974 reel includes Rich Kelley, Pete Maravich and Willis Reed along with Orr, and lastly, the Nov 26, 1974 reel includes Larry Csonka, Bill Bergy and Mike Riordan along with Orr.
