Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
With a record twenty-one players all reaching the 100-point plateau, the 1992-93 NHL season featured the 100th year of the Stanley Cup, with the most fittingly team capturing Lord Stanley’s centennial hardware in the form of the Montreal Canadiens. The title serves as the most recent for the storied club. This unawarded 1993 Stanley Cup championship trophy was produced by Boffey, and is similar to the examples awarded to each member of the Montreal Canadiens by the NHL in a tradition dating back to 1958. Standing a majestic 13” and mounted to a wooden base with brown felt underside, the names of the men who made it happen are engraved in three rows beneath the team executives, with “Montreal Canadiens” and “1992-93” engraved above.
A few small areas of surface loss are visible, specifically just above and to the left of the engraved text as well as at the top of the tiers, with a bit of additional surface loss along the rim.
