Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Terrific eye candy offered here includes two-thirds of the Chicago Cubs' famous double play combination of the early-1900s, with superb hues of green in the backgrounds of depictions of second baseman Johnny Evers and first baseman Frank Chance contributing to the attractiveness. And how about the action photo of Evers sliding safely into third base? Sensational indeed, with SGC deeming the triple folder worthy of EX/MT 6 recognition. The reverse tells of Evers' base-stealing prowess and also informs, "He is always a good waiter at bat, getting many bases on balls." Chance's laurels meanwhile included leading the Cubs, as player-manager, to four National League pennants and two World Series titles, five seasons of hitting over .300 and a record fielding mark in 1910. Two legends await your important encapsulated pre-war card shrine.
