Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Legendary Chicago Cubs' first baseman Frank Chance was one of the first player-managers in baseball and after taking the helm in 1905, guided the club to four National League pennants and two World Series titles in a five-year span (1906-1910). He also has the distinction of being one of the few players to appear on two different portrait cards in the T206 set. With a yellow-orange hue in the background here, this Polar Bear specimen has received alluring EX/NM 6 recognition from SGC. It's a Pop 1 with no similar card ever grading higher at SGC, out of the 102 total submissions. PSA numbers meanwhile tell of two EX-MT 6s as condition leaders, with 136 similar inspected. A wonderful chance to score one of the nicest Chances on record and second to none!
