Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
An Americano cocktail here will quench your thirst for a couple of Topps sets, with mostly crease-free EX to EX-MT cards joined by some NM-or-better contributors in a binder. All but four candidates have their stamp inserts affixed on the back in a 1969-70 assembly, including Orr (EX), Howe (EX-MT) and Hull (EX), with a Serge Savard RC (EX) and unmarked checklist (small crease)(VG) also noteworthy. A Ken Dryden rookie card (EX+) headlines the ’71-72 set, also a 132-card affair, with a creased Orr card (G+) a condition exception. An EX-MT unmarked checklist, Gordie Howe’s last Topps card (EX) from his Red Wings days and numerous legends on six league leader cards are nifty differences from O-Pee-Chee’s issue from the same season.
To note in the '69-70 ensemble is the lesser #1 card of Gump Worsley (G), with the first card in the '71-72 set (NHL Goal Leaders) also off (VG) due to corner wear.
