Hailing from his sophomore NHL campaign, Connor McDavid would register his first 100-point season in 2016-17, netting 30 goals and 70 assists in 82 contests, enough for the coveted Art Ross Trophy as the league’s highest scorer. This photo-matched stick saw action with McDavid during the morning skate that preceded the preseason match vs Los Angeles, during Day 3 of NHL Kraft Hockeyville Canada, in Vernon, BC, on Oct 2, 2016. A CCM Super Tacks model with “McDavid” factory graphics, the original white tape is in place over the blade and blue cloth wrap with reinforced strand over the handle. “97” is handwritten over the handle tape, with a bar code and serial number on the underside of the shaft. Very light use is exhibited on the composite as expected, with a bit of wear to the taped section of blade and marks to the shaft. A hologram from MeiGray numbered “MGA 003843” is affixed to the upper shaft, with a matching LOA from the Edmonton Oilers to accompany.
Two included numeric images have been matched to the stick, including Getty Image #612045172 (Oct 2, 2016 NHL Kraft Hockeyville Canada preseason game vs Los Angeles, at Kal Tire Place, Vernon BC), matched to the small indentation mark visible within the upper silver bar between the "CCM" and "Super Tacks" on the front side of the shaft, and to the specific shape and placement of the white-over-blue tape on the handle, while Getty Images #612045294, also from Oct 2, has been matched to the pattern of dark marks visible to the left of "Super Tacks" on the back side of the shaft, to the long dark streak through the "M" of "CCM" on the back side of the shaft, and to the specific shape and placement of the white-over-blue tape on the handle.
