Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
The second overall pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Lehtonen was regarded as the future solution to Atlanta’s goaltending woes upon making his debut with the club late in the 2003-04 season after being called up from the AHL’s Chicago Wolves. Featured in this lot is a game-used CCM Heaton 10 stick which has a date stamp of February 13th 2004. The factory dated production stamped date is a little over a month before playing his first game for the Thrashers so the stick was most likely used early on with the Thrashers in his rookie season or with the Chicago Wolves. He also used this model in 2004-05 while back in Chicago and while still qualifying as an NHL freshman in the first half of 2005-06. There is plenty of evidence of game use on the stick and it is a fantastic souvenir for fans of the Thrashers. Also included in this package is a replica CCM size XXL Atlanta Thrashers jersey that is signed on the number 2 on the back. All of these items come from the personal collection of an important hockey executive with his signed LOA to accompany.
