Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/27/2021
The first overall selection at the 1988 NHL Entry Draft, Mike Modano spent his entire career with the Minnesota/Dallas franchise, with just 40 games played for the Detroit Red Wings during his final season. The eight-time All-Star also represented the US internationally. From the mid-to-late-2000s, we have a signed stick used by the superstar, with this specific type of model seeing use in both 2006-07 and 2007-08. A Warrior Dolomite model with “M Modano” factory graphics, the original black tape is in place over the handle (with “9” handwritten) with the blade tape removed, with a production code on the underside of the shaft. Modano has added a large silver paint pen signature across the front side blade that displays beautifully. Great game-use is exhibited, with a crack to the blade and chipping to the lower shaft. Originating from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
