Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Representing both the genesis and conclusion of his HOF career – recognized by many as the greatest of all-time, Martin Brodeur began his rise to stardom in the Q with Saint-Hyacinthe, and spent the 1992-93 season with Utica after just four games of backstopping New Jersey in 1991-92. From early in his career in the early-1990s, we have a signed stick used by Brodeur in the minors with either Saint-Hyacinthe or Utica, accompanied by a signed game-issued stick from his final NHL season which occurred in St Louis in 2014-15. Both Sher-Wood models, the game-used PMPG 530 model sports “Brodeur” and “1” stamped to the upper shaft, with the original black tape over the blade and white to the knob. Light use is shown, with a section of white paint added to the paddle, with Brodeur signing in red, with the signature appearing to be one of the earliest we have seen. The game-issued GS 650 model sports “Brodeur” factory graphics, with the identifiers in Sabres colours, with a few marks to the stick. Marty has added a blue marker signature across the blade that stands out beautifully. Hailing from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
