Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/27/2021
A standout with the Russian national team throughout his career, Ilya Kovalchuk skated for five different NHL clubs but is best remembered for his time with Atlanta, enjoying his highest-scoring season with the Thrashers in 2005-06. This signed stick was used by the superstar during the mid-2000s. A Warrior Dolemite model with "I. Kovalchuk" factory graphics, there is a production number on the underside of the shaft, with the stick painted black on the lower section (Kovalchuk used examples with the lower shaft painted during the second half of 2005-06 and early-on in 2006-07). The original white tape on the blade and black over the handle and knob is intact. Ilya has placed a black marker signature across the front side blade that displays well. Light game-use is exhibited, with a bit of wear to the blade and marks and residue to the shaft. Originating from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
