A Stanley Cup champion with the Colorado Avalanche during the club’s inaugural season, Patrick Roy had previously hoisted Lord Stanley’s trophy with his hometown province Canadiens, with his career in Denver to include three All-Star Game appearances along with the Conn Smythe Trophy, in 2001. This signed stick was used by the HOFer while with Colorado, in 1999-00. A KOHO 500 model in Aves colours, “P Roy” is stamped over the upper shaft, with the stick retaining its white tape over the blade and knob, and black cloth tape over the upper shaft and handle. A "12 Avr 2000" date stamp is visible near the name stamp, with Roy signing over the paddle in black marker, with the signature light due to a weak marker. Hailing from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
Light use is exhibited on the lumber, including marks and wear to the taped section of blade along with a few additional marks to the paddle. Roy would post an impressive 2.28 GAA along with a .914 save percentage while winning 32 games for the Avs in 1999-00.
