Dominating the NHL postseason throughout most of the 1980s, the Edmonton Oilers were famous for making quick work of opponents including during the 1985 Stanley Cup playoffs when they lost only three single games. This lot contains a collection of 1980s Oilers programs totaling approx 59, accompanied by Oilers memorabilia along with a group of Calgary Flames playoff programs from 2003-04 including for the finals, along with 11 matching tickets. The Oilers programs feature 13 produced for the playoffs, including 1980-81 (3), 1981-82 (2), 1982-83, 1983-84 (3), 1984-85 (3) and 1986-87, with four different programs in the collection featuring Wayne Gretzky covers. Some of the additional Oilers memorabilia includes a string of 4 calendars (1981-82 to 1984-85), an early-1980s Gretzky 7-UP poster (low grade), Oilers media guides for 1981-82 (2), 1982-83 and 1986-87, a group of 24 original ice-lever 4” x 6” photos including Gretzky (6 different) and Messier, an original 8” x 10” game action image of Gretzky, Oilers postcards (13 with tape added to the Gretzky), and more! The Flames 2003-04 playoff tickets include examples for Round 1 (Games 1 and 2), Round 2 (Games 1, 2 and 3), Round 3 (Games 1, 2 and 3) and Round 4 – Stanley Cup finals (Games 1, 2 and 3). The majority of the programs in the collection show moderate handling wear commensurate with their former use, with the odd example showing damage including torn covers, creasing or minor soiling.
