Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020

The coveted rookie card of goaltender/innovator extraordinaire Jacques Plante, along with those of fellow icons Maurice Richard and Jean Beliveau, headline this intriguing Parkhurst set, with the trio recently graded (strictly, in our opinion) VG 3 by PSA. We cannot spot a crease in any of the three and that goes for the raw rest too. VG, VG+ and VG-EX cards have been together for decades, given the pretty much uniform toning exhibited. Much more visually pleasing than cards with different background shades. And what a lineup - it fuels the popularity of the '55-56 issue - with then-current Canadiens and Maple Leafs joined by "Oldtime Greats", action shots and the buildings where so much hockey history was written. Please see our website for further details and images of the inviting star-laden roster.
Get this - just for the fun of it, we counted and there are a total of 36 Hall of Fame legends featured in the 79-card set, with a rookie card contingent that includes Durnan, Duff, Billy Harris, Talbot, Marshall and still others. There are no conventional creases detected, with half a dozen cards with an indented "line" visible on the back. The first (1-Lumley) and last two cards (The Montreal Forum and Maple Leaf Gardens) show a tad more corner wear than most, with some minor wax stains on the front of the Forum example. For those of you who detest creases but do not require high grade cards to be content, this set should be considered.
