Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Existing for a mere trio of WHA seasons, having formerly competed in the WHL beginning in 1967, the Phoenix Roadrunners competed in the Western Division, and after folding at the conclusion of the 1976-77 WHA season, the sunny locale would not see professional hockey again until the relocation of the Winnipeg Jets, in 1996. With such a short life span, any and all Roadrunners items from their days in the rebel league are highly sought. We have just that, with a rarely seen Phoenix Roadrunners 10K gold pendant that originates from the 1970s. Slightly oval-shaped at approx ¾” x ¾” and weighing 9 grams, a gold-coloured Roadrunners logo has been inserted into a blue stone over the top, encompassed by “Phoenix Roadrunners W.H.A.” in raised letters. The reverse is stamped “10K” with a pair of hallmarks, with light overall wear to the pendant.
