Founded during the initial NHL expansion of 1967 and later merging with the Cleveland Barons in 1978, the Minnesota North Stars would make a pair of Stanley Cup final appearances before relocating to Dallas for the 1993-94 season. The Minnesota Wild would replace the North Stars as Minneapolis’ team, with their inaugural season occurring in 2000-01. This lot contains a great group of Stars and Wild postcards and team cards ranging from 1993-94 (Dallas Stars first season) to the 2000s, totaling approx 476, with roughly 385 for the Stars and 91 for the Wild. The breakdown by year for the Stars postcards is as follows; 1993-94 – 27 team cards including 6 signed with Modano (signed) and others + 23 Southwest Airlines cards including 2 signed, 1994-95 – 26 team cards, 1995-96 – 12 team cards including 1 signed, 1996-97 – 28 team cards including 2 signed, 1997-98 – 23 team cards, 1998-99 – 26 team cards, 1999-00 – 28 team cards + 3 black and white team cards, 2000-01 – 28 team cards, 2001-02 – 28 team cards including 1 signed + 8 black and white team cards, 2002-03 – 25 team cards, 2003-04 – 20 team cards + 2 black and white team cards. There are also an additional 78 misc. team cards from the early-2000s. The breakdown by year for the Wild postcards is as follows; 2001-02 - 9 Marconi cards including 4 signed, misc early-to-late-2000s - 82 team cards + an additional 46 Minnesota postcards from a series pertaining to the state and hockey. The majority of the postcards in the collection display beautifully with just light handling wear.
