Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Parkhurst's second hockey card effort, like it's first, totaled 105 cards, with a low grade ensemble offered here. The Gordie Howe example displays the best among the key cards with no unsightly creases but is lowered by minor paper loss on the front, while soiling/toning, rounded corners and multiple light creases affect the #1-Maurice Richard entry. Poor, with several severe creases are Sawchuk and Horton RC. Eight cards have scotch tape or tape stains (one inch across the top), with at least a dozen either markedly short (Geoffrion, Rayner) or narrow, suggesting trimming. Writing on the back (Kelly) and ink stains (Lach) are observed, with the rest featuring normal handling wear such as creases, soiling and corner/edge wear. With that said, all but four cards have problem-free legible backs, there is no writing (other than the Kelly), no punch or pinholes and no glue - this set still acceptable - we've seen considerably worse in the past.
