Producing one of the greatest all-time Montreal Canadiens as its most notable alumnus, the QSHL operated throughout the 1940s and 1950s, with winning clubs competing in the Alexander Cup championship tournament. Originating from the incomparable autograph collection of E. Robert Hamlyn, we have a collection of QSHL material including 1945-46 and 1946-47 Shawinigan Cataractes team-signed sheets as well as a 1957 Cataractes letter signed by coach and HOFer Kenny Reardon, along with a Chicoutimi Sagueneens team-signed sheet, 1958-59 team-signed program and four team letters. All five letters are 8 ½” x 11”, while the program is 8 ½” x 11 ½” and the team-signed sheets are approx 4 ½” x 7 ½” or slightly larger.
The Cataractes sheets include 15 ink signatures for 1945-46 and 22 pencil autographs for 1946-47, while the Sagueneens sheet has been signed by 18 in matching blue ink. The Reardon and Sagueneens letters are all on team letterheads with typed text, with the program signed on the cover by 14 in blue ballpoint including Howie Young and Bob Nevin.
