Scoring the winning goal for the Pittsburgh Penguins to claim the 1991 Stanley Cup, Ulf Samuelson was originally a Hartford Whalers draft choice in 1982, with appearances made with five different clubs throughout his lengthy 16-season career. From his final season in The Big Apple, we have a New York Rangers “Lady Liberty” third jersey worn by the talented Swede in 1998-99. A Starter Center Ice label with “56-R” size swatch sit affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and Starter crests gracing the bottom hem. Utilizing a gorgeous textured Statue of Liberty team crest with embroidered detailing, the white V-neck has been embellished with “5” in layered drop-shadow tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching shield crests over each shoulder. A patch from MeiGray numbered “103164” has been placed on the inside hem near the team patch that denotes the garment as a “Set 1” example.
A few dark marks are visible over the lower front, with heavy board burns with resulting holes over each sleeve. The back of the collar has also been cut/separated, with a few large team repairs over the left elbow.
