Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020

Mind-boggling is the thought/time/effort that went into producing numerous In The Game products over the years, as is the end result of two limited sets offered here from 2013-14, along with the dollars it must have taken to assemble such scarcities. ITG's Superlative The First Six Rivalry Quad Jerseys set has cards limited to 19, (with the exception of two), and gives collectors a sense of the heat between Original Six pairings. For example, Boston's Shore and Brimsek and Toronto's Conacher and Clancy are featured on one, with Montreal's Richard and Harvey and Toronto's Kennedy and Watson on another, with these two limited to just nine copies. Other "Rivalry" cards include Detroit's Howe/Lindsay and Montreal's Richard/Beliveau, Chicago's Hull/Hall and Montreal's Plante/Moore, the Blackhawks Hull brothers and the Canadiens Mahovlich brothers, Rangers Leetch/Messier and Bruins Neely/Oates, Habs Roy/Muller and Leafs Potvin/Gilmour and so on and so on, with a piece, in most cases, of each player's game-worn jersey present - remarkable. .....Meanwhile, even scarcer, (with just nine copies of each produced) and we would say even more dazzling is a Superlative The First Six Franchise set in which four members of the same team are featured on cards that include pieces of game-worn jerseys and game-used skates, gloves, pads and pants. Fascinating are the likes of pieces of skates worn by Georges Vezina, King Clancy, Nels Stewart, Dit Clapper, Toe Blake, Busher Jackson and others, pieces of gloves used by Howie Morenz, Tiny Thompson, Rocket Richard, Boom Boom Geoffrion and Turk Broda, as well as the dozens of pieces of game-worn jerseys - what a spectacular assortment. The toploaders of almost all cards still have intact In The Game stickers sealing them, with only light/minimal scratches to the holders. An opportunity that may not come along again is what is offered with this spectacular ensemble.
