With lavishly illustrated covers from Tex Coulter on many of its issues, Blueline was popular with fans in the 1950s for its insight into the game and its players, but modern collectors have an appreciation for their overall aesthetic the historical tidbits found inside. This lot of 29 issues from the publication’s memorable 41-issue run features some of the greatest names in the game and a top-notch copy of the first issue from October, 1954 is included. Look for covers featuring Gordie Howe, Jean Beliveau, Jacques Plante, Maurice Richard, Gump Worsley, Andy Bathgate, Frank Mahovlich and more. The earlier issues from 1954 and 1955 exhibit spine wear and heavy toning, with a few examples showing spotting. Most of the later issues exhibit lighter handling wear, with toning still a factor, with the odd small crease, corner ding or stain.
