Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
The first German-born player to win the Stanley Cup, Uwe Krupp saw action with six different NHL clubs throughout his career while also representing his nation internationally. This signed Colorado Avalanche jersey was worn by the two-time All-Star in 1995-96, a season where he was injured during the opening game, returning only late in the year for a handful of regular-season games and the playoffs. We should also note that excluding his Finals jersey, this may be the only white jersey he wore that season (played 6 regular season games and 22 playoffs games). A Center Ice label and “58-R-3” LB, LS” swatch are affixed to the collar of the especially large jersey, with embroidered NHL and Starter crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with the familiar Avs team crest in tackle twill partially embroidered, “4” appears over the sleeves and verso in textured twill, with matching “Bigfoot” alternate crests adorning each shoulder. An LOA will accompany.
Krupp has signed over the right breast in blue marker, with the signature displaying well. Great game-use is exhibited, with a few large stick marks over the front and some minor staining over the right elbow.
