A 4th round selection at the 1975 Amateur Draft, Dave Hostetler appeared for a trio of MLB clubs during his career, along with a pair of seasons spent in Japan with the Nankai Hawks, in 1986 and 1987. This Montreal Expos jersey originates from 1980 (no one wore #55 in 1980) and was recycled for Hostetler's use in 1981, and was later recycled to an Expos farm team as there is evidence of a former minor league team patch on the lower portion of the Expos' team patch, as well as evidence of a former nameplate covering Hostetler’s. A well-worn Rawlings label with “44” sizing resides on the inside front right tail along with a “Set 1 1980” tag placed adjacently, with “55” handwritten over the collar and crossed out. Featuring a tackle twill team crest with “Expos” placed beneath in individual red twill letters, “55” appears over the reverse and right breast in matching material, with “Hostetler” arching over the upper reverse. Showing no unsightly wear or marks, the jersey remains in very good condition.
