Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Reaching the 3,000 strikeout mark in fewer innings than any other pitcher except Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez is an eight-time All-Star and three-time Cy Young Award-winner, with a World Series championship won with the Boston Red Sox, in 2004. This bat was used by the Hall of Fame member during his time in Montreal with the Expos, in the mid-1990s. A Louisville Slugger W248 model with “Pedro Martinez” in block letters over the barrel, the 34” lumber with hollowed barrel top has Pedro’s “45” handwritten over the knob. Remaining uncracked, the bat shows thorough game use, with dead wood over the front and reverse barrel, with some wear to the finish over the knob. A rarely-seen gamer from an important Hall of Fame member. All proceeds from the sale of this lot will go to the Kat D DIPG Foundation at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
