Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Featuring the men referred to as Bonnie Prince Charlie and Sugar Jim, we have a collection of items totaling 14, with each signed by either Boston Bruins star netminder and 1941 Allan Cup champion Sugar Jim Henry, or iconic Blueshirts goalkeeper and 1973 HOF inductee, Charlie Rayner. Included, we have a trio of modern 8” x 10” black and white prints signed by Henry, with each picturing the Winnipeg native with one of the teams he represented, including Boston, Chicago and the Rangers. Each has been signed in black marker, with Henry adding his “Sugar” moniker to two photos. This is followed by 11 items signed by Rayner, with 7 modern 8” x 10” prints (6 different) including a 1941-42 Brooklyn Americans team photo and the image used for his 1956 Adventure card. This is followed by a larger 8” x 12” photo, a HOF induction card (3 ¾” x 7”), a small modern print (3 ½” x 5” - Beehive image) and an index card (3” x 5”). Rayner has signed in a variety of inks, with the signatures displaying beautifully. A JSA auction house LOA is included, with the index card not included in the LOA.
