Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A treasure trove of signatures from arguably the best defenceman in NHL history, we have a large grouping of photos signed by HOF superstar Ray Bourque, with each hailing from his personal collection. Included, we have over 50 signed photos (with heavy duplication) along with a pair of matted and dual-signed Boston Bruins tickets from the Feb 1, 1997 contest vs Tampa Bay where Ray surpassed Johnny Bucyk for Bruins all-time leading scorer. There are 8 photos in the 16” x 20” range (5 different images), 40 that are 8” x 10” (39 are the same Bruins image, with just a single example of a different image), 1 at 11” x 14” (black and white) and 4 that are 8" x 10" and featuring Bruins game-action, with each mounted to board. The final piece is a copy of a drawing of Boston Garden, mounted to Styrofoam board (13” x 19”). The majority of the signatures have been applied in blue sharpie, with a signed LOA from Ray Bourque to accompany. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
The Bourque/Bucyk dual-signed tickets have both been signed in silver paint pen, with both tickets presenting in high grade. The photos all show light handling wear, with some creases, dents and dings to the larger 16” x 20” photos.
