Appearing in three consecutive NHL All-Star contests in the early-1980s, Rick Vaive was the first member of the Toronto Maple Leafs to secure a 50-goal campaign, accomplishing the feat three consecutive seasons. From his first 50-goal season in 1981-82 where he netted an impressive 89 points in 77 games, we have a Campbell Conference jersey donned by the Ottawa native at the 1982 NHL All-Star Game. A Gerry Cosby label remains affixed to the collar, along with laundering instructions and a “54” size swatch. Styled with a gorgeous embroidered NHL shield crest, the orange mesh sweater has been accented with 54 affixed stars, along with both “22” and “Vaive” over the verso in white-over-black layered tackle twill. Originating from Rick Vaive’s personal collection, an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
In stunning condition, just a few minor random marks are visible including a few burns over the right sleeve, with a bit of discolouration to the white border along the NHL shield crest.
