Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Highly desirable for both their age and antique appearance, we have a wonderful collection of late-19th/early-20th century ice skates totaling 4 pairs. Two feature wooden bases, with a pair having curled blade tips with intact hardware and strapping – which is extremely rare – with “Klein’s-Pat Newark NJ 1856 & 57” stamped into each blade. The second wooden-base pair feature’s a simple design with elegant curled blade tips, with each blade stamped with the maker, but due to pitting, only “Canada” can be made out on each. The solid steel skates include a rare clamp-on style produced by Martin out of Boston, in gorgeous condition with a 1905 patent date, while the second pair was produced by Ving in Norway, with their logo stamped over each blade along with “24-26".
