Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
With just a pair of games played for the Philadelphia Flyers in 1974-75, Mike Boland had previously skated for the University of Toronto for four seasons, with additional time in the AHL and NAHL. From their single season in the WHA in 1972-73, we have an Ottawa Nationals jersey worn by Boland. A partially-detached Tricot label is situated over the collar, with the tie-neck durene sweater measuring-out to approx a size 46. Styled with a layered red, white and blue tackle twill team crest, “10” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Boland” over the affixed nameplate in single white twill. We should note that the tie string appears to be a replacement, with a small tear visible at the base. With just a single-season of existence, any and all quality Nationals material is rare, with this jersey a prize for any WHA or Ottawa collector.
Surviving in beautiful condition, there is some bunching-up to the team crest along with a small stain along the top section, with a bit of light blue paint transfer over the front band. There is also some loose threading/unraveling to the lower hem.
