Recently serving as head coach for the WHL's Kelowna Rockets, Jason Smith enjoyed a lengthy 16-season NHL career, captaining both the Philadelphia Flyers and Edmonton Oilers, with his time with the latter noteworthy as one of the longest-serving leaders in Edmonton’s history. We have a signed Oilers alternate captain’s jersey worn by the 1000-game veteran in 2000-01, where he appeared in the full 82 contests. An Elite label and size “58” tag both sit affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and KOHO crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively. Styled with the familiar tear-drop Oilers team crest, the navy V-neck jersey has been accented with tri-layer tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, along with matching oil rig patches over each shoulder. Sporting a few marks over the lower front and burns over the right sleeve and left shoulder – with small resulting holes on the former – there is also some loose threading on and near the outer collar. Smith has signed the reverse “2” in black marker, with some minor bleeding into the background. The team patch is situated on the inside hem, and it denotes the garment as a “Set #1” example.
