Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Released early in 1946 by Republic Pictures, Gay Blades starred Allan Lane, Jean Rogers and Edward Ashley, with a running time of approx. 67 minutes. The comedy centers around the twists and turns of Rustlers’ star player and wanna-be architect Andy Buell (Lane), approached by Hollywood scout Nancy Davis (Rogers) to star in a film, with seemingly nothing going right. We have a one sheet poster for the film. At the standard 22” x 28”, the main characters are all pictured, with Andy set to take a face off with an opposing player suited-up in a sweater reminiscent of the style worn by the Boston Bruins. The film’s credits appear within the bottom left, with a small logo from lithographer Allied Printing along the bottom right. Exhibiting moderate to heavier wear, two fold lines are visible, along with creasing, pinholes, edge and surface wear, with a few pencil notations over the reverse along with “1460” written in black marker.
