Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
A participant in both the Ace Bailey Benefit Game in 1934 and the Howie Morenz Memorial Game in 1937, Jimmy Ward was one of the Montreal Maroons long-standing players, starring with the defunct club from 1927-28 to 1937-38. We have a signed 1933-34 World Wide Gum Ice Kings card of the 1935 Stanley Cup winner, with this example encapsulated and certified “AUTHENTIC AUTO” by PSA/DNA. Signed to the right of his image in pencil, the signature is bold and displays well, with the card itself in low grade, with corner wear and a few creases. The reverse has also been heavily damaged, with most of the text obscured, with glue residue and paper loss from prior scrapbook removal. Ward would pass in Portland Oregon in 1990 at the age of 84.
