Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Designed to bring and ensure order during a simpler, more personally-responsible time when patrons were well aware of the cost of disrupting the common good, we have a vintage Louisville Slugger policeman’s billy club, with this specimen regularly twirled by a whistling Jake at Yankee Stadium during the Depression. Accompanying the club and the perfect companion piece, we have an original Yankee Stadium police badge, also from the 1930s. At 23” in length and professionally turned, the club feature’s a well-shaped handle with finial termination knob, with rawhide lacing added to facilitate ensured grip. A small Louisville center brand has also been utilized. The 2 ½” x 3” badge feature’s an embossed seal with large pin fastener, with the number “197” in affixed numbers. A COA will accompany.
The billy club and badge both remain in excellent condition, exhibiting just light wear.
