Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Acquired by the Toronto Maple Leafs for $7500 in 1935-36, Turk Broda would spend 14 seasons representing the Blue and White, with Vezina Trophies earned in both 1941 and 1948. We have an attractive framed display featuring a photo signed by the 1967 Hall of Fame inductee. A centralized 8” x 10” photo of the netminder has been double-matted, with a name plate below along with a Maple Leafs pin. Broda has signed to the right of his image in what appears to be fountain pen, with a somewhat lengthy personalization that begins with “To Cy”. Framed to full dimensions of approx 16 ½” x 18 ½” with just light wear to the frame, the signature is quite faded but legible, with some warping, creasing and wrinkling to the photo.
