Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

A four-time Vezina Trophy winner and six-time Stanley Cup champion in just 8 seasons, Ken Dryden also played in 5 NHL All-Star Games, with his number 29 retired by the Canadiens on January 29, 2007. We have a stick used by the legendary HOFer, with this type of model seeing action during the period the Habs began their Stanley Cup dynasty in the mid-1970s. A Canadien model with their familiar rainbow striping accents, “K. Dryden” appears faded on the upper shaft, along with handwritten “29”. The stick retains its original and heavily marked white tape on the blade and knob, with a strand of tape loose over the upper shaft.
Good use is exhibited on the desirable lumber, with wear to the underside of the blade and heel, with numerous puck marks over the blade, with a chunk broken off. There are also small rips to the tape along the backside of the blade, a common trait with Dryden gamers as he would hit his sticks against the tip of his skates. Red paint transfer is also visible over the upper shaft, with one of the thin green striping accents gone.
