Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Wayne Gretzky’s first pro stop was with the WHA Indianapolis Racers in 1978-79, where he suited up for 8 games and recorded 3 goals and 3 assists before moving north to join the Edmonton Oilers that very season. We have a limited-edition Indianapolis Racers jersey signed by the icon. With thick tackle twill crest and numbers including “Gretzky” over the reverse in dual color twill, there are absolutely no condition issues on this large tie-neck beauty to note. Wayne has placed a solid blue marker signature in the white area of the team crest, and it’s been hand-numbered 104/150, with a UDA hologram numbered “BAE68277” placed nearby. You might have a signed Oilers or Kings jersey in your collection, but do you have one of these?
We should note that the jersey was mounted in a frame previously, with pinholes left over the shoulders, sleeves and lower hem. Despite these small imperfections, the jersey displays perfectly, unaffected.
