Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Mario Lemieux’s signed 1996-97 Penguins Koho Revolution game-used stick is from the Hall of Fame center’s final season before his first retirement. A spectacularly productive season saw him win the Art Ross Trophy for the sixth time with 122 points, including his sixth 50-goal season. Mario signed in bold black marker low on the front of the shaft of this beauty that has his original tape jobs on the blade and the knob, with “Lemieux” stamped below it high on the shaft. Factory code "569 7" is stamped low on the back of the shaft with "13" handwritten in pencil above it. “45” is handwritten in gold paint on the lowest portion of the black paint on the back.
Good wear to the bottom edge of the tape job on the blade, which has a chip on the top edge of the toe.
The “45” notation could possibly signify it was a goal stick since it was a 50-goal season.
