Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
The Hershey Bears have competed in the Calder Cup finals 23 times and won 11 AHL titles, the most of any current team. Hershey’s rich history shows in defenseman Dennis Owchar’s 1973-74 Bears Calder Cup championship 10-karat gold ring, which commemorates their fifth Calder Cup title following a 12-2 playoff run, including a five-game win over the Providence Reds in the final. “Hershey Bears 1974 AHL Champions” is spelled out on the bezel surrounding a large red stone set in the tableau of this beauty that weighs approximately 25 grams. "Jostens 10K" is stamped inside the size 11 1/2 band. Nicely preserved with sharp details, proud wear shows in scuffs and scratches to the stone and the band. Comes with Dennis Owchar signed LOA.
The left shank displays “Owchar” on a banner above an image of the Bears’ skating bear logo. The right shank displays “Defense” on a banner above an image of the Calder Cup with “Calder Cup Champions” and “Hershey Bears 1974” on it.
