Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
With post-career time spent as the Director of Player Development for the New York Islanders, Eric Cairns enjoyed parts of six seasons on Long Island as a player, from 1998 to 2004. We have an Islanders jersey that was worn by the Oakville native in 2002-03, his second-last season with the club. Size “58” labeling is affixed to the collar, with Reebok and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with the familiar Long Island team crest with embroidered detailing, the white V-neck has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with an alternate patch over the right shoulder. Heavy use is exhibited, with numerous marks and burns present including a large stick mark beneath the team crest. There is also paint transfer over the right sleeve, along with some blood staining over the front just beneath the right shoulder. A MeiGray patch numbered “A02522” sits over the inside hem, and according to their population report, the garment is a "White 1st Regular Season" example.
