Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
One of the NHL’s earliest and most romanticized venues, the Mount Royal Arena was constructed to house the recently orphaned Montreal Canadiens, after Jubilee Arena – the Habs home rink – was razed by a fire in 1919. The famous building also housed the Montreal Maroons for the 1924 NHL season. We have an original brick from the noteworthy arena, along with a display case. At roughly 4” x 8” with expected excessive weight, an attractive metal plaque has been placed over top listing the particulars, with the limited-edition number of “6/85” handwritten along the underside. Accompanied by the attractive aforementioned 12” x 7” x 5 ½” display case that features a black wooden base with plexiglass cover, a COA will also be included.
