Somewhat of a mystery, we have an antique ring with an interesting design from approx. the 1910s, with this 10K gold keepsake attributed to NHA player Harry Scott. Size 8 with an approx. weight of 6 grams, the diminutive ring feature’s a “CA” monogram reminiscent of the logo the Canadiens used throughout the period Scott was with the club, with just the extended top and bottom portions of the monogram differing. The inner band is stamped "T.G", "H. Scott" and "10K", with no known jeweler matching the name or initials. Communication with the Canadiens research department has concluded that no official team rings were made during the period, with Scott possibly having the ring made. It is also interesting to note that Montreal did compete in a losing challenge for the Cup in March of 1914, while Scott was with the club.
Born in Moncton in the late-19th century, Scott skated for the Toronto Ontarios and Montreal Canadiens in 1913-14 and just the latter in 1914-15, with 29 total games played for the Habs, recording 19 goals and 2 assists. The ring has wear to the band from use, with other small and minor scratches and nicks visible. It has also lost its circular continuity somewhat and could use a good cleaning, with this mentioned just for complete accuracy.
