Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
One of the earliest NHL franchises on American soil, the Chicago Black Hawks have iced teams for over 90 seasons, with recent success in the form of 3 Stanley Cup championships in just 6 years. We have a tremendous group of game-used Black Hawks sticks totaling six and all hailing from the mid-to-late-1960s, highlighted by an example used by Doug Mohns that has been team-signed by the 1966-67 Hawks. The other sticks offered include examples from Doug Jarrett, Howie Young, Eric Nesterenko and Hubert "Pit" Martin, along with a signed goal stick wielded by Denis DeJordy.
Each stick feature’s the users name over the upper shaft (except the DeJordy), with the original tape over the blade and handle/knob. All remaining solid, each stick also exhibits great use, with wear to the blade and paddle, with tape added to the lower shaft of the Young stick to possibly rectify a crack. A few of the stamps have been blacked out on the DeJordy stick, with Dennis adding a ballpoint signature with dedication over the handle. The Mohns stick has 16 signatures including his own placed along the front side of the shaft in fiber-tip marker, with HOFers Hull, Hall, Mikita and Phil Esposito, along with Wharram, Maki, Hodge, Stapleton, Van Impe, Ravlich, Dennis Hull and others.
