Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
The winner of an amazing 14 gold medals while competing for his beloved Russia at the Canada Cup, World Championships and Winter Olympics, netminder Vladislav Tretiak is best remembered for his unbelievable performance at the 1972 Summit Series. We have a signed stick used by the HOFer during his time with Russia and the Central Red Army in the early-to-mid-1980s. A preferred KOHO model, “Tretjak” appears on the upper shaft, with the original black tape over the blade and knob in place along with the striping accent over the paddle. Light but definite use is visible, with wear to the blade along with a few marks to the heel section and paddle. Tretiak has signed across the upper paddle in black marker, and the signature displays well. A notation beneath the signature, possibly a year, has been handwritten but we’re unsure of it’s meaning, with the stick possibly signed later by Tretiak.
