Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
One of the youngest performers to have ever been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role - an honor that he received for the film Skippy in 1931 – Jackie Cooper spent over 60 years “in the business”, which included many acting roles later culminating in both directing and producing. We have a signed photo of the icon along with signed artwork. At 8” x 10”, the sepia-toned photo pictures a youthful Cooper, with Jackie signing across his image with a dedication, with no issues for the signature. The 7” x 9 ½” pencil artwork was apparently executed by the same individual the photo is dedicated to, with the artwork similarly signed and dedicated in pencil. Also included, we have the original “Jackie Cooper” 8 ½” x 10 ¼” mailing envelope. Each signature will be accompanied by certification from JSA.
The 8” x 10” photo remains in wonderful condition with a JSA sticker numbered “T13040” affixed, while the artwork exhibits expected wear, with no issues for the signature. Lastly, the accompanying original envelope shows wear from its prior use, with “Movie Star” handwritten in black marker along the reverse.
