Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
An integral component of Canada’s successful Canada Cup victory over the Soviets in 1987, Paul Coffey would be competing in his second major international tournament, with additional gold medals won in both 1984 and 1991. We have the HOFer's gloves worn at the 1987 Canada Cup, and they’ve been photo-matched. CCM HG1 models, “Canada” with team logo appears embroidered over each wrist guard, with all identifiers screened-on. Great use is exhibited, with heavy wear and rubbing to the leather in spots, with additional wear to the palms that includes a long repair along the base of the thumb on the left hand glove. A signed LOA from Paul Coffey will accompany.
A pair of included digital images from the tournament that are undated have been matched to the wear pattern on the "C" of "CCM" on the cuff of the left glove (one photo is from a game vs Czechoslovakia and the other against Soviet Union).
