Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Two of the most integral components to the success of the 1980s juggernaut New York Islanders, both Billy Smith and Bryan Trottier spent considerable time on Long Island, with each honoured for their careers as respected members of the Hockey Hall of Fame. We have a pair of sticks from the superstars hailing from the mid-1980s, with the Trottier example signed. Both Victoriaville models (Pro-Smith/Ultra 4050-Trottier) with the respective player’s name stamped-on, each retains its original tape over the blade and knob, with each exhibiting thorough/heavy use. The Smith stick is cracked across the blade and heel section, with both sticks showing wear to the undersides of the blades as well as wear and marks to the lower shafts. Trottier has signed his stick midway up the shaft in thin marker adding his number, and the signature displays well.
