Born in Taiwan while his military father was stationed there, defenceman Rod Langway was a two-time James Norris winner that spent the bulk of his career in Washington, with election to the HOF occurring in 2002. We have a Capitals jersey that was worn by Langway in 1989-90, and it’s been photo-matched. A Maska Airknit label appears along the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with “Capitals” across the chest in individual blue tackle twill letters, the V-neck sweater has been accented with red and blue tackle twill chest and sleeve stars, with the sleeve and verso numbers fashioned in matching material. Getty Image #156799460 from March 20th 1990 has been matched to a pair of black marks on the lower right side hem.
Game-wear is heavy, with a ton of dark marks over the front and sleeves, with paint transfer near the left elbow. There are also a few small holes over each sleeve along with a team repair over the lower front, with some pilling to the interior. Measuring across the reverse from armpit to armpit the jersey is 28”, which equates to roughly a size 56.
