Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Ed Giacomin’s 1967-68 New York Rangers team-signed Northland game-used stick has the HOF goalie’s original tape jobs on the knob and blade. The nucleus for the Rangers’ rise to greatness in the late-1960s and early-1970s is featured among the 20 ballpoint signatures with all of the players who suited up for the six-game Stanley Cup quarter final against Chicago, including Giacomin and fellow HOFers Harry Howell, Jean Ratelle and Rod Gilbert. Many of the autographs are grouped on two sections of white hockey tape that was added over where there are some chips in the middle of the paddle. The others are on the shaft, which has a “Giacomin” stamp and a bold black marker “1” handwritten at the top.
There are Gerry Cosby & Co., New York, New York stamps on each side of the upper shaft, and a “Lie No 13” stamp on the front of the upper shaft.
