Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
One of the most historic nights in NHL history, the tilt between Toronto and Boston on Feb 7th 1976 witnessed an unbelievable performance from Darryl Sittler, with the HOFer scoring an unfathomable 10 points including 6 goals. We have a highly collectible program from that very evening along with an additional pair of Leafs goodies, including a Jacques Plante signed postcard and Maple Leafs 1971-72 calendar. The program is void of its center line-up with date, but a listing for Molson Cup selections on page 29 states an “As of” date of “Feb 2nd”, assuring it’s from the historic contest. The 3 ½” x 5 ½” signed Plante postcard features a ballpoint signature with personalization and 1971 date, set in a small frame to full dimensions of 6” x 8”.
The program exhibits moderate to heavy wear with numerous creases and edge tears, with the cover torn along the bottom of the spine until the first staple. Additional creasing is present along the interior pages as well as toning. The Plante postcard exhibits heavy toning along with some light staining along the top section, with no issues for the signature. Lastly, the Leafs calendar will come rolled, with just minor wear along the bottom section.
